In order to study the feasibility of a sunken plaza used for relative security zone when it is located in the center of a square’s commercial podium, the available safety egress time was acquired by numerical simulations which were carried out by FDS, then the required safety egress time was obtained by hydraulic model calculation and numerical simulations that were carried out by BuildingExodus.
