为探究试样宽度与外加辐射耦合作用下热塑性聚合物水平火蔓延特性,通过开展3 种热塑性聚合物PP、PMMA和PS水平火蔓延实验,研究不同类型、不同宽度的试样在不同外加辐射耦合作用下的火焰高度、火蔓延速度和质量损失速率等特性的变化规律。研究结果表明:其水平火蔓延过程大致可分为发展、稳定蔓延和衰退3个阶段;在辐射传热与对流传热的竞争机制下,试件宽度从4 cm增至6 cm时,PP在外加辐射强度为7.5,10.0 kW/m2下的火蔓延速度和质量损失速率均出现减小的情形;PMMA和PS的火蔓延速度和质量损失速率均随着外加辐射强度的增大而增大;PMMA和PS的质量损失速率随着试样宽度的增大而增大;热薄型PP和PMMA在火蔓延过程中的质量损失速率与理论计算结果吻合良好。研究结果可为热塑性聚合物在建筑工程中的实际应用和高层建筑的建筑防火设计提供一定参考。
Abstract:
In order to investigate the characteristics of horizontal flame spread of thermoplastic polymers under the coupling effect of sample width and external radiation,the experimental study on horizontal flame spread of thermoplastic polymers with different types and sample widths under different external radiation intensities was conducted.The results show that the horizontal flame spread process can be divided into three phases:growth phase,stable spread phase and decay phase.Both the flame spread rates and mass loss rates of PP with width of 6 cm present a sudden decrease under the competitive mechanism of radiative and convective heat transfer at the external radiation intensities of 7.5 and 10.0 kW/m2.The flame spread rates and mass loss rates of PMMA and PS increase with the increase of external radiation intensity.The mass loss rates of PMMA and PS increase with the increase of sample width.The mass loss rates of thermally thin PP and PMMA during the flame spread process obtained from the experiments are in good agreement with the theoretical calculation values.The research results can provide some reference for the practical application of thermoplastic polymers in building engineering and the fire protection design of high-rise buildings.
