Abstract:
In order to ensure effective knowledge dissemination in fire safety education videos,color-based cues and shape-based cues were implemented in fire knowledge explanation videos,fire demonstration videos,and fire case study videos.Eye-tracking technology was employed to investigate how different cue designs affect visual behavior and cognitive load across these three video types,enabling optimized subtitle design in fire safety education videos.The results indicate that color-based cues in fire knowledge explanation videos enhance visual salience of target areas and rapidly capture viewers¡¯ attention.Shape-based cues in fire demonstration and fire case study videos attract viewers and facilitate their cognitive processing.Cognitive load ranks highest in fire case study videos,followed by fire demonstration videos,and lowest in fire knowledge explanation videos.Based on these results,it is proposed to set color-based cues in fire knowledge explanation videos and shape-based cues in fire demonstration and case study videos.The effectiveness of this optimized design was validated through experiments. These findings can inform the optimization of subtitle design in fire safety education videos.
